The way you’re doing it here, the treat delivery is always associated with your presence. You can set the remote trainer to various types of reinforcement schedules (for this, say variable interval) or you can be in another room out of your puppy’s sight and deliver her food rewards remotely.

we have a penned area for our 2 chis & have used these techniques from day one. Now 5 years old they just love their “sanctuary” , going in and out of it all day, but closed up when we leave the house. Plenty of Kongs etc to occupy. keep the videos coming. Love your commitment to training !

Great tutorial!!!! I will have a chihuahua puppy in my flat soon but my pen looks kinda different. It is made out of fabric.
The thing about it is, that first my flat is not big enough to constantly let the big pen outside and second I will take the pen along as I take my puppy to university.
But it has no door. How do I train now?

HELP!!! I recently got my 8 wk papillon puppy (4 days ago), The first day I gave several treats (chicken) for being near the crate and choosing to be in the create. But I still have problems with her being stressed while Im not near the crate. She won’t eat or drink while in the crate or play with any toys or a peanut butter field Kong. I keep her in their at night and while Im at work… She cries until she falls asleep.
