This is part 2 of “How to Teach Your Dog to Enjoy Taking a Bath.”
This is my first intructional video:)! This video took so much time and editing, but it was well worth it:). We had a lot of fun making the video. I created this technique for my own dog Kaine, who, believe it or not, used to H-A-T-E taking a bath. I used positive reinforcement combined with the clicker to teach Kaine to L-O-V-E taking a bath instead. He now loves taking a bath so much, he actually jumped into the shower when I turned the water on!
This method is a hands-off approach to teaching your dog to enjoy the bathing experience.
I want to thank my sister for letting me use her crazy Jack Russell Terrier, Jesse, for many of the scenes. The two Labradors belong to my parents and the little Chihuahua is a foster that goes to his forever home today.
The two Beagles are some of Kaine’s pup pals that we pet sit for.

Fantastic!! I do exactly this kind of thing to get horses to enjoy baths (erm, except for the tub ;P ) – for some reason I haven’t done so with my DOGS who hate baths, though, so thank you for this video, very inspiring!!
Min Pins have a …
Min Pins have a really fine coat so bathing often isn’t nec as long as you brush often and use a curry cloth to remove excess oil and dirt and add shine to his coat. Also, whenever he gets muddy too. I use natural and organic shampoos on Kaine and bathe him once a week (and I brush him in between). I have found that commercial brands dry out the skin due to the chemicals, but natural products actually moistuize his skin:). I will make a blog about this topic and I hope this helps:)!

Thanks so much for this! I have two new dogs who hate baths, and it was so clear that I needed help making it a positive experience for them.
